Kaguya-sama Official Doujin
One of my favorite series, Kaguya Wants To Be Confessed To (aka Kaguya-sama: Love is War) has an "official doujin". A doujinshi for lack of a better translation is probably most similar to a "fan fiction" in the US. However the main difference is that in the US we do not allow for derivative works to be copied and distributed for profit. In Japan, many very talented professionals release doujin even though they are not licensed by the original creators. So what does it mean when I say that Kaguya Wants To Be Confessed To has an "official doujin"? It basically means that it's an official spin off.
So are you about to tell me that Kaguya basically has an official hentai spin off? Sadly not. Okay so why did you just spend a paragraph detailing what a doujinshi is and what's the big deal about this "official doujin"? Well the author/illustrator of this "official doujin" has created unofficial Kaguya doujinshi and the nature of that work is good research material. While this adult doujinshi isn't official Kaguya content in itself, it does come from an official author/illustrator of the series, Shinta Sakayama.
